Flying microlights for over
33 years

Welcome to Mainair Microlight Centre, the leading microlight flying school in the North West. Here at Mainair we can cater for everything you will need, from a trial flight to your complete NPPL microlight licence.

 

Mark Jackson has been flying microlights for over 33 years and has travelled all over the world. Mark has flown across Florida, including flying down the runway at NASA's Cape Canaveral, the Space Shuttle landing strip. He has flown around Europe on many occasions in the past including Belgium, France, Spain, Italy.

 

Mark flew a microlight he built himself from Manchester to Madrid and back to Manchester solo in 1995.

 

In 2005 he flew from John'O'Groats to Lands End, and then back to John'O'Groats, solo in 1 day. This was the first and only time this flight had been done.

 

In 2008 he flew over Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, which is the highest free standing mountain in the world and stands at 19,341ft. On the expedition he broke the world altitude record for a two seat microlight. He managed 24,262ft.
